Replacing the siding on a home generally involves the following steps:

Step 1 – Remove the existing siding.

Step 2 – Inspect and make any spot repairs that are necessary.

Step 3 – Wrap the home in a waterproof membrane.

Step 4 – Install corners, trim doors and windows, and the exterior fixtures.

Step 5 – Install the fiber cement siding.

Step 6 – Seal the gap between the siding and trim with weather-proof caulking.

Step 7 – Hire a painter to paint the new exterior.
